1958 D LWC with die cracks along the coat and tie

    One crack runs at the edge of the coat to the tie. There is a large separation between some of the tie and the coat. I think it happened at the mint and is not PMD. The entire length of the crack is intact and follows one line. There is a nice crack on the forehead also.

    I am thinking die chip in the tie area, and a die stage on the jacket details.

    Thanks for the feedback. I was sure it happened at the minting process. The die stage seems like a good description to me. However, the condition at the tie doesn't appear to be a chip because it actually cuts that feature in half. The process moved part of the tie.

    I think I am too. I will be 79 next month and am probably over due to stop looking close at my coins.
