I need help whit this coin because looks doubled on number 8 or maybe is a 1965 struck on 1962 cent idk
The 8 appears to have taken a hit and the coin was struck with a worn obverse die, as seen by the perimeter lettering spreading toward the rim
Copper is easily moved from a hit and the date is exposed to hits. After a while longer in circulation it dulls down hiding the original movement to some degree.
Coins take a beating. That's why they are so strong. They last for 50-100 years. The zinc pennies not included in this. They just disintegrate rapidly.
Hi Miguel - as our fellow enthusiasts note, just some travel damage with 5 decades in the wilderness. You'll see some strange anomalies with time, some looking pretty convincing. But alas, not much happening with most finds. You never know, and this is what makes the hobby somewhat exciting for some of us. Good luck on the hunt!!
Not so much a single wore die but a worn 'Master Die'. All the 1968 LMC's have an excessive amount of design creep/spread. A new Master Die was made for the 1969 year to replace the one that had been used since 1916.
