I bought 3 rolls of half's today just for the heck of it. I was amazed when the first roll show this silver bicentennial proof which I believe to also be a DD. What you think?

A shot of the edge should tell, and there is a weight difference.

They also made a 40% silver that would be clad.

I see an anomaly but no DD in my opinion, still a nice find. Keep searching those coin rolls you never know what you will come up with, good luck. Thanks for sharing.

That wouldn't make a difference;)did you forget only the 1964's were 90% silver, only the weight can tell.

Without seeing the edge, I was guessing clad proof which is a lower mintage, 7M, than the silver proof, 11M. Nice find on the S proof.
And 40% silver halves have a completely whitish edge with no copper showing. I think the core is alloyed. So it is "grayish white".

Silver or not, finding one in circulation is sure a great find. Nice.

I certainly have not forgotten that a Bicentennial CLAD Proof will show in its’ edge. I was responding to the OP Kennedy, not before 1971.
