Dumb question on a forum like this lol Im sure many of you have and if you havent maybe you will enjoy this! An old Philippines One Peso Treasury Certificate. Dont know a ton about it I have had it for awhile. It says across the top "By Authority of an act of the Philippine Legislature, Approved by the President of the United States June 13, 1922" It also says "Victory series No.66" in multiple spots. I have no idea what its worth but I like it alot! I imagine its the Philippines version of the silver certificate because it states "Payable to the Bearer On Demand In Silver Pesos or in Legal Tender Currency of the United States of Equivalent Value" Sorry for the sideways pics my camera aint exactly the most modern technology
Thank you! So was the information I gave on it accurate? Is there anything else you can tell me about it?
I have seen these before & they were printed by the US BEP,the US mint also struck their coinage .After the US won the Spanish American War the US was given the Philippines & Cuba from Spanish as possessions .I have a US Philippines Silver Peso Coin. This may explain why the note you posted resembles US Currency printed by the BEP .
Thanks, I still collect coins ,I posted a coin here (Paper Money Forum) just for an explanation ,if you read that note it says redeemable for a peso,I'm pretty sure this is what you would get if you redeemed that Paper One Peso for a Silver Peso.
very nice. i have quite a few of the old philippines peso's. they styling are a lot like US currency. here are a few diffrent ones that i have. :thumb: i have other you can alsways check my signature down below for more
