1944-S Washington quarter

Are all of these quarters DDO? I won one at an auction for a friend of mine who already has one, and he says no. Unfortunately the magnifying glass I have can't make out the motto where the doubling is supposed to happen, and I wonder if he already had one why did he want another?

Can you provide more detail, such as why are you bidding/buying for a friend?

Why want another one? Well perhaps to upgrade their set with a higher grade. At one time I had a few friends, but learned they were only friends because they wanted to sucker me outta coins. Quite common ATS especially within the Washington Quarters Registry players. I knew one guy that bad mouthed everybody. Now I see he’s playing friends with these same people while swiping their coins on the cheap. He uses the “Oh us collectors gotta stick together BS”.

Sure, because we are. I'm A member of my coin club, and he isn't. He works nights when the club meets, I'm retired. The club I go to is probably 90 miles from his home. We've been working on our coin collections for at least 6 years.
