i've been here several years and i've never seen anyone offer to pay...but i think its commendable to offer to do so...

 

I agree that it's unusual to offer to pay for info, but for what it's worth, you could always donate the $5 to a local food bank or other charity. Just my thoughts, do what you feel is best
