I know they are not supposed to come open easily. But I'm trying to get one open without breaking it so I can put a different coin in there. I searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer. Thanks.
Kinda like opening a clam. I find the seam and with a sharp pocket knife gently squeeze the blade in. A few wiggles and it's open.:smile
hmmm... Thats too bad. Maybe I'll just wait till next time I'm at the coin shop and buy an extra one, rather than switching out the one I have now.
Ok. I did it, treating it like a clam. And it was so easy that I feel kinda silly for asking now. I was just afraid I might break the holder.
channel locks gently apply pressure and the seam will open I've found this easier than any other. Don't squeeze to hard or it will break. Place in channel locks so seam is on outside of teeth
With my luck I would break the holder and scratch the coin. I will stick with the little pocket knife that I have.
Your assuming my old eyes could find the seam again. The first(and only time) I tried it I richoceted the 2x2 off the wall. I could'a put my eye out. It was actually funny - so I am going to pass.
Place in a vice so only the far edge is in the grips. Then with a butane torch, melt off what plastic you see. Turn the coin and melt the rest off.:goofer:Or find a 10 year old neighborhood kid and tell him he can't open this. They always do.
I kept a phone right beside me with 911 already dialed. If serious injury had occured I would only have had to press "send"
I can open anything! just push my thumb one side of the airtite and If you hold on you can pry it open with a finder...try it am rrious! If you cant do it then ask And would love to open it for you if you send it in the mail!
