I've been listing some coins on eBay for the last 2 months.
Sold off my whole Peace Dollar set except for the 1921 and the best other date/mm I had; keeping those two for my Type Set.

Took an hour or so to get them posted on eBay.
They were all listed as BIN.
By the time I was done several had already been bought and paid for!

I'm pretty sure people don't sit at their computers constantly searching for specific items.
So I figure eBay has some sort of setup that buyers can use to be notified when something they want shows up for sale.
    Sort of a live wantlist.
    Is that true?

Yes. You can save a search and get email notifications when a new listing matches the search criteria.

Also people can do a search and sort for most recently listed. I think a lot of people do that and wait for new stuff to show up. Like you anytime I sold U.S. silver in the past few years as buy it now, it sold within minutes as long as the price is reasonable.

Yes, I get notifications if certain saved searches have new listings. That's why it's important on eBay to list as many details as you can and list the item in the right category. This is especially true if your coin is likely to be searched by a limited number of people such a specialists.
I prefer to browse the oldest BIN listings as they often have the steepest discounts! Also, best offer listings that have lingered a while often accept lower offers.

I have some searches saved for my shot glass collection as there's a few I need to finish a subset and they're kinda hard to find. I get an email when something matches what I'm looking for and I can review right in my email if it's worth investigating further or not.

It's a very handy tool for me. I haven't done it with coins - YET

Congratulations on the sales. You must have priced the coins at more than a fair price. Good on you. ;)

  8. Congratulations on the sales. Yes, that saved search function is nice. What’s your seller ID on eBay?

There are also some people who will search the BIN's for the most recent listings to pick things off before others have a chance to see them.

that's what I do....haha. mostly because I'm to lazy to watch the auctions and/or I forget or I'm not sure what I wanna bid - etc.
