Another counterfeit, this time from a seller I happen to know a little about. He seems a reputable enough guy, and I think he just doesn't know the coin isn't real. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334292931293?hash=item4dd56952dd:g:NtQAAOSwoNVh4zKp I've messaged him, asking that he re-examine the coin, and I've not heard back from him. It's possible he might second guess himself if he hears from others. Is anyone willing to help prod him?
Is it possibly contemporary or just a recent fake? I sent a note to the seller discussing the possibilities and I now see the auction was ended.
To a lay person, that knows little to nothing about coins, this looks like a nice coin, so they bid on or buy it, not knowing.
No reply from seller, I'll report this piece of junk. beautiful example, Eduard! went to report it and listing has been ended!
The first thing which caught my eye was the reverse rim, from noon to six. Then practically every other design element. I would know, 27 from the complete series over nearly ten years. So yeah, I've seen a few. Not to mention the series specific books by expert authors in my library.
