Hi guys, I have this 2015 Roosevelt Dime and notice that half the letters on the front are barely there or missing, including the P mint mark, and the same goes for the reverse. Can someone explain what this is please? Also I would like to know why the letters "ONE DIME" on the bottom reverse look doubled? Is this machine doubling?
Die deterioration on the one dime towards the bottom I believe. And yea looks a greaser to me nice one too. If it was a die adjustment strike there’s be no design rim and there would be no reeding on the coin but u can see reeding in the pic
A greaser in my opinion. Having it on both sides is nice. Nice find and while not worth much over face, a great coin to keep as an example. When the worker cleaned the dies, they wiped the grease right into the outer devices.
