I was gifted these by a friend and I have no words for how much this means to me. I followed and reported these coins from the beginning and it’s crazy to see what it all has come to. All I want is to educate and help others understand and collect shield cents, this means a whole lot to add these to my collection.

Yea that was in the beginning of the craze sort of prices have lowered a bit. They even were selling for $400 plus ez before but I’ve seen some rn that r at 400 and no one is biting. But it’s still wild to see what it had come to I mean on a modern modern coin 2010 usually no one bats an eye at them. I’m glad it got to this point
They’ve been being found in new NF String Rolls and the boxes of that “wrapper” has holes in the top of the box. I’m sure once they r circulated more we’ll find them in mixed boxes of cents. But it seems we’ve gotton to the craze before that could actually happen seeing most of them being snatched up are from brand new rolls and boxes all 2021
Aw well I have Loomis rolls. I'm up between Baltimore and DC so probably too far away from the main discovery location. I really hate looking at shield cents. This is the only thing that has interested me with them so far besides the super strong clash marks.
Lol I like to hear that tho it’ll get you looking at shield cents. It’s worth a shot tho loomis could have them ya I ever know but I think they were all distributed in a certain location of a place that wraps the coins. rotated reverses are big too 2011 d has a major one 180° 2016, 2019 are also good dates there r extreme rotations on those. Yea the clash marks r awesome too
To me I know this is a hobby but it's still a investment and I personally don't see it holding its value in the future . you did good cuz yours was free ...
My advice: Never, ever buy newly discovered big errors like this when they are discovered. Prices always come crashing down. Just wait awhile...
I agree 100 % errors are all over the place, I've had much better specimens error than these and was schocked as to value, or again what one is willing to pay.. I would consider these like the game as a kid " hot potato" trying not to be the last one holding. I do also believe that if these were a series pre 1964 silver then value would be stable somewhat better.
Yea for sure price will dwindle but I still see it being a $200 to maybe $300 coin constantly maybe for a progression set Also I feel the 2021 will be short lived because we started seeing them in brand new mint boxes back in mid November. That being said as well they were fairly new most r being found in bank boxes so searchers are taking them all out of circ before they get to be in peoples change. I’ve seen a few found in change but I feel the error it was minted whenever they minted the coins and put into new rolls of boxes in November or whenever that was so by this time they already prob started getting ready for 2022 so I feel the error won’t be seen as often like if it was found in the beginning of 2021 at the height of production room of cents. Just my thoughts
