    We all just got home!
Mom and baby are doing well.
All 3 kids were beyond excited to meet their brother.

Just when we thought we were in the clear...in the pediatric ER with a severe case of jaundice and low weight. Tests just came back and he is being admitted into the hospital. Little dude is 4 days old and has been poked and prodded and just had to get a covid swab. Ugh. :(
    Sorry for venting.

Ugh, it's the worst having to watch it happen to a kid. :( Best wishes for getting it sorted out quickly; these are things that they're used to seeing, and they should be able to get him back on an even keel quickly. Please update us when you have the opportunity.

I'm so sorry that the little guy -- and the rest of the family -- have to deal with this. My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery.

He and mom are admitted and he is now working on his tan in his own little incubator. Hopefully, they will test him tomorrow morning and his levels will be better and he will be eating better and have gained some eight and they will be able to come home. I am staying home with the 3 older kids and trying to keep them (and myself) distracted. No idea when for sure they will get to come home though.

Yep, he gets the easy part now, basking in the sun. You get the hard part, waiting.

He also has to do his part and eat more. He's been so sleepy and not eating enough and that's part of why the jaundice spiked.

Hang in there FuryFrog! You have the thoughts and prayers from a fellow Marylander that your little guy will pull through! My youngest girl had the same issues and had to be readmitted with Mrs. TheRed while I stayed home with ther older child. Now she is a strong willed 3 year old that is driving her father nuts.

Thanks. Mrs and tadpole are in the hospital and I'm now home with the big three. Not sure how much sleep the Mrs or I will be getting tonight. His first test is here soon and we will get results in about an hour. Playing the waiting game.

It was a stretch, I'll give you that. But be sure to know that my prayers are for all to be well as soon as possible.

I understand what you're going through and hope everything turns out fine as it did with my youngest son.

    26 weeks and 2lbs 1.5 oz.
Due April 18 and delivered Jan 4!
(At least he waited til after the bowl games. LOL)
    He is now 33 & +-200 lbs

There will be a lot to learn, follow, and understand. One of the best things we did was join a support group at our hospital of other parents going through similar situations (since we were already spending lots of time there). As much as people want the best outcome in this situation, there isn't any substitute for real-life hands one experience to help us understand what is serious and what is "normal" when going through something like this. Others that have already been through the experience can help guide you through the maze of emotions and questions.

(Your other kids will be having questions they may not express. It's hard to navigate and know what helps them the best.)

Wishing your whole family all the best.
    Cliff
