Does anyone collect presidential dollars or the Innovative dollars?

I have only done one roll of $1 because I had never even seen them. I thought they were so cool. Out of the roll there was one Susan B, 3-Sak., 4 Native American, and all the rest were Presidential. I kept all off the newer shiny ones which was about half. I may start me a book.

Like furryfrog02, I have the Presidential and Native American sets and also got the 1st P & D innovation $. We have a friend, who has a 10 year old son, who is a history buff and loves the presidential dollars, so I have gotten him folders and keep him supplied with the dollars when I find them.

Start yourself a book. It’s a rewarding search and a nice feeling of accomplishment when you complete it.

Nope not really - I never liked the "golden dollars" from the get go. I do have a handful of the Presidential ones just by happenstance but it's nothing I'm interested in putting effort into.

I was in the process of making 5 sets in albums. I got P & D rolls every year up to 2011 when the mint stopped selling rolls to the public. I gave the partial albums to grandchildren and stopped. I have all the P & D and Proof Sacagawea and President because I got the Mint Sets and Proof Sets every year. The Innovation Dollars never were put in the Mint or Proof Sets. So, I only have the 2018 that I got for my grandkids type sets.

I like to fill up my Whitman albums but once that is done I am also done. I did buy several rolls of the Maryland Innovation Dollars because we live very near to Goddard Space Flight Center, and I put them in plastic capsules and give them to nice people (waiters, clerks, etc) as an extra. Sometimes I get to see a happy smile and perhaps a future collector will be started.

Its funny you posted about tipping with these...if you recall when the Tall Ships came into port .
I was giving some out to thhe ships crews when we tour the vessel. They also had a ships stamp ,I got a $100 in singles notes ask each ship visited to stamp a few notes, and then spent them around town.
I1 got quite a few smiles handing our gold dollars to crews, probably a tad bit disappointed when they realized they weren't real gold.

They never stopped selling rolls to the public.

Oh I see from your later post you meant stopped making them for circulation. Yes that was annoying for the NA and President dollars, and as for the Innovation dollars NONE of those have been made for circulation.

They stopped making rolls of Presidential dollars for sale to the public after 2011. They started up again later. That's why I stopped my collection. I don't know about the Innovation series because I never intended to collect them.

No they have sold rolls of Presidential dollars every year, they just stopped making them for circulation after 2011. After 2011 the only way you could get them was to buy rolls or bags from the mint.

Or search a ton of bank boxes for NIFC dumps. That's how I completed my set :)

And where did those NIFC dumps come from? Rolls and bags sold by the Mint

I know, I know. Just saying - you didn't "HAVE" to buy them directly from the mint. You could wait for others to spend the premiums and dump the rest :)

That may be correct, and I quit getting them because I am primarily interested in coins that are intended for circulation.
