This appears to have FB. I have am pretty sure of that. It is really hard to get a good picture of that though. It is circulated but has a very lustrous shine that does not diminish on normal places and has very few scratches ect. The band is complete every where but has a very tiny nick in one band across from the b in Pluribus. This is a very high grade and I'm not sure what I should do with it. I am new to this. 2022-01-18-01-11-11-472.jpg 2022-01-18-01-01-31-271.jpg

I figured it out. No broken bands means not even a tiny nick. The coin can be almost flawless but it the value is based on the bands.

Wish I hadn't even posted it lol

    This is a ‘57-D, not an S.

Full Bands means several things to different TPGs. The upper and lower horizontal split bands need to be un-occluded, meaning not broken by contact marks or worn down to obliterate the line. There is some leeway given for very light contact marks on the split bands but the lines separating the bands have to be complete from one side to the other.

The other focus is on complete vertical torch design bands, and you want these to be as pristine as you can find, with no or very light defects.

The TPGs will use this and all their other grading criteria to determine if the coin has full bands, in their opinion.

Close-ups of the split bands are needed to properly assess. I see blurry spots on the bands from those full-coin pics. If that is flat spots on the bands, this is not FB.

Hopefully another member can point you to the site with the specific criteria, I can’t remember where that is.

I sure struggle with getting just the right lighting and angle for closeups with sharp detail. I'll try to get a more clear picture. Thanks Spark

    Best Regards

I'm seeing a lot of contact marks and to me, it looks like it was polished. A nice addition to an album, but not good enough to bring a premium, IMO.
