I had no real reason to pick this one up except it looked really good for 64 based on the seller’s photos. Won in a shockingly low bid. Easily identified as a VAM1d. Ms Liberty is super clean. In hand, I am still not certain why she only a 64. Probably because the 80s and 81s are held to very high standards.
Here's another one for the type set. My photos do not show the significant remaining luster of this coin.
This is one for the type set, replaces a circulated coin. I find the strike a bit mushy but I'm all in on the flash of this coin.
And my last one, this for the Capped Bust Half Dime collection. The 1832 LM-13, R-3. BTW, I put in a bid on the 1832 LM-9.2, R-7 coin in Friday's Heritage auction. I knew my bid wouldn't come anywhere close to winning. The coin hammered for $9500, $11400 with BP.
A few newps . . . A nicely toned 1906 Quarter Eagle . . . A very nice looking 1895-O Morgan . . . And a scarce 1899-O $10 Lib in an OGH . . .
I think this is the overton 104A r5. What say you Mr, @okbustchaser It appears to have the die crack at legend on right? And I think I see the die defect at the olive stem.
I saw your setup at the nashua show today. You were busy talking and I didn't have much time to stay or say hi.
Sorry we missed each other . . . Another time, perhaps. Hope you found something you were looking for.
Some more newps . . . Really pleasing, "moderately" affordable 1852-O $10 Lib. I'd been waiting for one that made sense. A very PQ 1880-O Morgan . . . And a better date 1896 $10 Lib . . .
Here is my first one of 2022. Hope to have many more! PS: Also got a new photography system for Christmas and this is the first try with it so please let me know if the coin looks too horrible. Thanks!
