I have a couple Questions about Coppercoins.com .. Is it me of do Half the Links I click on in the Menu (By the Date Guide) Seems to go nowhere.. or is broken..
And Do these Varieties that are "unknown" by Wexler or Coneca have any Value.. and if they do and are true Varieties why are they Unknown by the Pro's at Coneca/Wexler??..
I have been searching and confirming all finds by the markers on the site..
I have a pretty nice Box or Two of Coins so far.. but do the values on the site really mirror the market? And where is that Market?
I need to join a club I think..
    Just found several more this morning.. 1974 D 1-DO-001 / 1974 D 1-DO-002
But If I look for these in my Cherry pickers.. well.. Where else would I find info.. or do I have to put all my faith in the info from Copper coins?

Just because coppercoins list a variety as unknown doesn't necessarily mean it is not recognized by CONECA or Wexler. In many cases it just means the variety hasn't been attributed to and crossed referenced to the other organization's files.

I always look things up from the "Die Variety Search" link on the top left of the site underneath "Search the site".

You can search by date, mint and type of variety. Great site, I think I go there 5 times a week.

    Hope this helps.

Exactly, "unknown" just means it has yet to be crossed but may very well be listed by CONECA, Wexler or Crawford. Cross referencing is time consuming and complex. It can only be done if there is sufficient information (e.g., photos of die markers) to cross one variety with another or if the same coin was sent to all the attributers by the same Submitter.

The prices, from what I understand, were supposed to generally be reflective of the market when the variety was originally posted but have not all been updated recently and the values could be from 2006. I believe Bob and Chuck are trying to update the pricing when they can, so I would take them with a grain of salt.

It's daunting task what Chuck and Bob have been doing with Coppercoins.com and I appreciate greatly what the site has done for the hobby as it relates to Lincoln varieties.

I am truly thankful for all the work they have done to help us Lincoln collectors. I wish there were other sites like that for other coin types.

I have been to that website briefly and it is a bit overwhelming to a newbie like me. Maybe with a little more experience and if or when I start collecting Morgans/Peace Dollars I will dive a little deeper. I'm still trying to decide what all I want to collect.

I have had some morgans for a few years and just now started going to the site.. it takes a bunch of research but it is worth it.. I found a Couple Hot 100's and a Hot 50 That I might have sold cheap.. The site is real helpful.. they have a walkthrough and tips.. I find a marker or three and go from there.. Morgans's have great Cuds and Cracks.. it fun!!
