If you look closely Nathan, you can see a trend here with the different coins. Look also at the fields (open areas) and you can see the uneven plating going on. Plating issues, though somewhat better now, have always been a problem with zinc plated Lincolns since they were first started back in 1982 and which the Mint has never fully addressed.
You can turn it upside-down, but the answer is still "no," it's a plating issue. The thin plating over the core dislodges sometimes when it's struck. You've an example of that. The doubling you're seeing is caused by the strike. It's not "die doubling," it's "strike doubling." And it happens a lot on these cheap-made cents...
