    So a while back I posted a H10C and a V nickel DDO.
Sent them in, after hours of verifying the specific varieties.
This is what I got today....
    Good afternoon,
We are currently working on your order Submission ####### , however there is an issue that requires your attention before we can continue the process of your order. I noticed that you are requesting varieties on 1872 H10c DDO V-6 and 1883 5c DDO , unfortunately we do not recognize these varieties for both coins . We need your authorization to cross these coins without varieties. Please reply to this email at your earliest convenience. Thank you and have a nice day!
How is it Numismatists with decades of experience can identify this, yet they CHOOSE not to recognize them.edited Language. I'm done. Waste of time and effort and money.

Ah, they are not the be-all and end-all despite what people think. If you like your coins, carry on. Both have reamed me many times....

One thing that makes PCGS look better than it actually is is the crossover factor for U.S. coins. There are many collectors who are obsessed with the idea that all of their coins should be in the same brand of holder, and they think that PCGS is better. Therefore many attractive, properly graded NGC coins are crossed. A fair number of the NGC graded coins that are left are their mistakes. PCGS makes grading mistakes too, but they are overwhelmed by the large number of U.S. coins PCGS has on the market.

NGC has graded more pieces than PCGS overall. NGC is the leader in the world and ancient coin markets by far. They have graded more tokens and medals too. No service is perfect, but NGC is also more reliable for variety attributions in my opinion.

Yikes, if only someone would have reviewed the website....all the heartache and anxiety and anger and pouting that could have been avoided, just by following simple directions.

In today's world, speed seems to be the answer to many people, so they miss some information. Ever try to read all of the rules and policies on almost any site? But that being said, yes, one should know what they are and are not paying for BEFORE the fact.

What's really frustrating is sending in a variety that one service DOES recognize, but finding out the other doesn't...but then a little while after you get your coins back, the second TPG starts recognizing it. :)
