Yep, when the fake slabs first came out the TPG's didn't have pictures on their websites. The counterfeiters were getting their information from the images on the Heritage Auctions website.
I guess, to each his own. Not something I'd purchase and who knows how long it takes to get here from China. From the looks, the seal appears to be similar to an air tight capsule. Not truly sealed, unless the purchase includes a sonic sealer. I wouldn't fault someone for using them unless trying to deceive others.
I don't know this for a fact, but I assume that NGC or PCGS, or any of those places purchase these slabs from a manufacturer. Now they may be to the TPG's spec, and even be patented or proprietary, etc. Point being the manufacturing is most likely done by a manufacturer. The chinese seem to be great at finding someone else's design and manufacturing it. I don't have an issue with the product, but I don't like how they are marketed and that goes with a ton of stuff from china. If it was honest marketing, then you're just choosing to buy a lower quality version of a product, no smoke and mirrors. Ok cool. No different than getting "mountain lightning" instead of mountain dew at that point - but that's clearly marketed as an alternative product that is "similar" Anyway, jmho
