Unfortunate if they are used for nefarious purposes, but otherwise seems like a nice product for people that want slab-type protection, presentation, and storage for their raw coins.

That’s the way I feel about them. I do have coins that don’t merit a TPG investment but do merit a slab. But spending cash with these jokers is like supporting the devil himself.

That was my reason for not supporting it and high shipping cost.

MIN ORDER IS 400 SLABS, WHAT I DO NOT LIKE IS THAT THEY ADVERTISE EM AS "ngc slabs" NOT NGC TYPE, OR LIKE OR COMPATIBLE, BUT AS THE REAL DEAL, WITH REAL SEAMS ETC, WONDER HOW YOU CLOSE EM, IN THE MICROWAVE, WINK WINK

I get the desire not to want to support the Chinese counterfeiting everything, but whether we like it or not if we boycott every Chinese product youd basically be living in a log cabin you built yourself wearing clothes made from animal hides you killed yourself while running around in redwing boots (if they are still even made in the usa) or moccasins you made yourself

NGC style would be more accurate but they are the same shell and core. I wont get them, but I wont crucify someone that does

Reminds me of one time in graduate school where one of my class mates was going on all day about how products should be made in America, we should boycott Chinese products, blah, blah. Later that afternoon he came back from Walmart and said, "Can you believe I bought this microwave for only $25!"

I had to explain to him that, if he enjoys buying microwaves for $25, then he needed to rethink his perspectives on American made products!

Lol very true. I'd prefer it be a different country than China preferably not a communist one, but all these new minimum wage laws are just going to assure manufacturing goes almost exclusively overseas. There's just no way around the fact that its insanely cheaper to manufacture outside of the US vs in it so it either has to go somewhere else or prices have to really spike

i just think that that company at alibaba knows what they are doing, by implying "ngc" slabs, this is an ongoing problem, the counterfeiting of coins, then coins in slabs, now fake slabs, and i am sure somewhere on the darkweb you can get the barcodes, rtc.. that is just my opnion, they are adding to the problem is all i mean...

Of course they know and did that for search results and sales. It's legal to do that in China if you sell it overseas. If someone wanted to be technical there's really no such things as an NGC or PCGS slab, any slab they issue would qualify as one and any slab not issued by them wouldnt be them.

But this is nothing new nor is fake slabs something new. NGC is a bit behind in their security for a first tier tpg, but the plastic and the cores will always be the easiest to copy and get copied pretty fast so no real point to change that part

Hell, high resolution photos of the slabs can be viewed on the TPG's websites. You don't need the darkweb to get the barcodes, all they have to do is print off those pictures :nailbiting:
