Hanging a "folder" on the wall

    Hey guys,

So I have a complete year set of the 50 state quarters that me and the kids have pulled out of circulation over the years. I purchased a $10 US map quarter folder from Littleton Coin and I'd like to hang it on the wall, that was sort of the intent of this anyway.

However it comes just like any other folder, which no way to do this. My first thought was maybe I could punch holes and put grommets in? Before I go experimenting and possibly ruining the folder, I wondered if anyone else has attempted this before and what method you used.

I use to work at The Home Depot in the 90's. Are you trying to use hangers or glue like @paddyman98 suggested? I may actually be able to contribute to a thread finally. THISTHREADISUSELESSWITHOUTPICHERS.jpg

Depending on the thickness when opened out, you could look at some picture or display frames, either glass or plexiglass fronted. Just an idea

Just find a frame that holds the opened coin folder. They are easy to hang and the air is harder to get to them.

Littleton and a lot of others actually make a framed wall display for the 50 state quarters.
I just googled "50 state quarter wall display frame" and saw a number of options.

Hmm - a framed display would be nice, although I'm not looking to make this a super fancy endeavor.

Permanent vs temporary is subjective. I don't want it permanently bonded to my wall if that's what you mean, HAHA.

However permanently bonding something to the folder would be fine. I wondered if installing metal grommets at the top corners would work, like those ones you can add to tarps and canvas and the like.

    Here's the folder in question......

OOOOH yes!! I hadn't even thought of those. I've got a mirror in my master bath hung with those. That might be the way to go, great idea.

What’s the maps size, length and width?

... a piece of plywood slightly smaller than the folder.... adhere the folder to the plywood and you're in business :)

OH that's a good idea too, 1/4" plywood would work fine even and I MIGHT have some big enough.

The folder is roughly 26" wide by 16" tall to answer @Collecting Nut

I like the mount to wood idea. However, 1/4" plywood is waaaay overkill. Just get a thin piece of 1/8" lauan plywood. It'll sit closer to the wall and look more picture like.

Two small nails would work just fine.

You and the kids have spent some time collecting the set and placed it in a folder. My wife frames things (she owned a Custom Frame Shop before retiring) and it is a good idea for you to spend a few bucks and have it framed. A simple 1" Black frame will make the set stand out, and it will be protected unlike just placing the folder on the wall where over time the coins will surely fall out.

I would take the measurements to the flee market and find a good frame cheap.
