Sorry to hear of your shutouts Erin.

    Lather, how many rolls?

I'm stuck on business out of state without any rolls to search. :(

Haven't been collecting or searching rolls very long. Not sure what a good "average" should be. One thing I have found out....when I buy rolls in Lubbock I don't have nearly as much luck as when I buy rolls from the bank here in the small town I live in.

    Hey Erin (Aggiecollector),
Can you give us some overall stats from your 100 boxes of halves searched? I'd like to know how many 40%, 64's, Franklins, Walkers, etc., you've found over that many boxes. Thanks for any info...Jeff

    How to find penny boxes

Hello I have been trying to find $50 in pennies but none of the banks around have that much. What is a way I can find them.

Ask for a $25 box. It may take some time for them to warm up to you.

How do you get a bag of dimes or pennies. I thought they only had boxes.

    Boxed coins?

They actually come in boxes and not rolls?

Sorry, I should be more clear. They come in rolls, packaged in boxes of $25, 50 rolls to a box.

I am able to buy the bags of coins that come out of the coin star machine at my bank and they are sorted by denominations $50 cents, $200 nickels, $500 dimes, $500 quarters and $1000 halves.

    Order from the Chief teller.

Ask the head teller at the bank to order them for you. It will not cost anything. You probably have to be customer, but that is about it. My bank teller orders on occasion (usually monthly, but not always). (It is a small bank).

Each box holds 25$ in pennies. Each bag holds 50$. Our teller gets me what she can. I try to give her some choices. Also, be sure not to take your "unrolled" pennies back to the same bank. That would not be appreciated.
