Just got this in today(i won it on the 2nd)..you will remember in the past i'd bought a replica coin of an MFB(man-faced-bull), while this one is bronze and lil worn, i can still see him in there and for a nice price too.. Nice! I bid on one of these (and lost) that ended on the 2nd... If it is the one I was bidding on, you definitely got it at a good price. I was bidding for the Nike. The mfb is pretty cool too

Nice catch, @ominus1! I only have the Ar version with nymph (Parthenope?). Rough surface, but a nice portrait underneath. And a runner on the flan.
Thank you! I have been fortunate finding many of the from friends, and have been fortunate in my searches! You have built a comprehensive and wonderful collection yourself, which is fun to see!
That's a nice-looking AE MFB, @ominus1. CAMPANIA, Neapolis AR Didrachm. 6.87g, 19.7mm. CAMPANIA, Neapolis, circa 290-270 BC. Cf. SNG France 917; cf. Sambon 490. O: Head of nymph Parthenope left, hair bound with band, wearing earring and necklace; uncertain symbol behind (Helle on a ram, trophy, shield?). R: Man-headed bull standing right, head facing; above, Nike flying right, crowing bull; NEOΠOΛITΩN in exergue. Ex Cardinal Joachim Meisner Collection, acquired from Friedrich Redder, Leipzig
Congratulations, ominus1 That is a nice coin! I have Bulls in my collection/ but no man/bull hybrids John
..i wonder if the obverse isn't supposed to be the goddess Parthenope?..it sure is a lot different from other Apollo bust i've seen on Greek coins of the era...
..i have seen some beautiful Greek coins here featuring the god Achelous ..and i am now aware of the other artistic flavors such as Nike being the seller for them...works of art indeed...
