I was returning unwanted pennies from my last box. I had three that would not feed. I got home and noticed two of them were extremely wide with high rims on both sides. Wondering what causes this. Not really good pennies but wanted to know for the future. Thanks.
Colloquially known as Dryer coins, doesn't mean they have been through an actual dryer, but the premise is what is important. Second picture is a group of 'dryer' coins
Pictures aren't the best but it looks like the edge has been beeten in causing it to widen and the diameter of the coin to be slightly reduced (search spooned coins, or Dryer coins)
