Small bronze, two Viminacium coins, nice provincial, Caracalla/Geta?, antoninian and part of a Roman brick with dog paw prints..
@galba68.....Nice finds, looks to be some decent detail under the gunk? I know you collect Roman bricks so that must be a bit special... Well done and thanks for sharing....Paul
Nothing to find where I live Orleans/ Canada. However, where I was born Jülich/ Germany/ there a Metal detector would be handy. Germany struck 20 percent of Worlds total gold/ silver coinage/ also Gallic Empire/ Roman Empire stuff is possible. John PS: Nice finds!
Stupid question alert: If the brick is not metal, how does the detector pick it up? Does it detect density? Is it found in the proximity of metal?
Roman bricks are cool, but even more so when they contain paw prints from a fuzzy companion that lived +/- 2,000 years ago! Also I would love to see the pile of tin cans/nuts and bolts/ modern coins that you dig up to find one of these small caches of coins.
