The Kennedy stamped on a cent is a souvenier thing that someone did a long time ago.....these are not rare.

    Half dollars from yesterday:
    Box one: Nothin
    Box two: 1 40%er
    $15 bucks in loose halves: 1 40%er.

It looks like people are selling (or trying to sell!) the Lincoln-Kennedy penny on Ebay and other sites for anywhere from $2.00 to around $30. If the penny is still attached to its "Amazing Coincidences" packaging, the asking price is higher.

Box of Nickels today with the wife. Along with lots of pre 1960 for our album we found:

    One- 1944 Wartime silver
and 1904 Liberty Head!- This is the earliest we have found in a roll to date.

    1969D 1 DDR -003 JFK Half. (Coneca)

    I found this half yesterday.

I think this is a 1969D 1DDR-003 Kennedy Half Dollar.

It has split serifs on the letter "S" and stars are split also.

*There is what may be a die gouge over the E in America, as a die marker for this specific DDR.

    * It also could be displaced metal from a hit*.

I still feel this is a DDR , just not sure which one.

I been searching in some banks for half a dollars rolls, but most of them dont carry them, so they say, so I dicided to call one of the main branch here in miami to c if they carry any, the guy that pick up the phone told me that one of the tellers told him that they might have like 600 dollars in halfs, so i drove there to get them, when I got there i aproached the teller and to my surprise the guy had asked him if they had dollar coins not halfs so i was upset, but then he asked one of the others tellers to see if they had any in their registers, one of them handed him three rolls and some loose ones that made up 8 dollars, when I saw the loose ones that he was about to give me I could tell they were 40% but dint know what was inside the rolls, so i took them all $38.00 worth. When i got to my car i started to check the rolls and in the first two rolls I found the usual finds. But when i opened up the last roll i noticed that the first coin was a 1964 half so i took out the rest and to my surprise all 20 coins were 1964's and 1964 D's. It was a good find even thought that they had made a mistake of telling me over the phone that they had more than three rolls. I will post some pics tomorrow...

This weekend I got a clipped 71 Quarter in my 1971 Uncirculated Set (I didnt realize it was clipped until after I started taking my set apart). I thought I may have found a 88 penny W/ REV of 89 but I am second guessing myself. So after work tonight I have to post some pictures.

i opened a roll of pennies that was my grandfathers, i found it stashed away. he must have rolled them in the late 50's/early 60's. i found a hand full of "D"s and 6 '43 steels. they ranged from '35 to '57.

$20 in nickles today and the only thing I found was two 1942 war nickles and a REALLY nice 1963. Found five others 1959 to 1951 but that was pretty much it.

You went through 10 rolls of nickels and "only" found 2 war nickels? Can't figure out why you used "only." I don't see very many silver nickels around....

    100th box

Well I opened 100th box of halves this week. Crazy to think I have searched 100,000 half dollars looking for silver lol. Truth be told though, I have really probably only searched like 20,000 or so as I know Bob and I are searching the same coins over and over for those few new ones dumped in. The first 25 boxes is where I found a good bit of silver but since then they have tailed off BIG time. Where I once found a box of 77 silver halves, nowadays it is a good box if I find 3. Plus it doesn't help that there are now 3 other searchers that I know of in my area. Bob, today I ran into another searched $500 that someone turned in to one of my banks ...sigh. Why didn't I start this about 5 years ago?

    For the record, 98th, 99th, and 100th box = 0 silver.
