thanks I had one on my wishlist that looked like it went through a garbage disposol so I'm pretty stoked that he got it for me Finaly I have and ancient morgan dollar
You know, these seem fairly common, but I dont see too many people with them in their collections, well at least as much as I thought I would . I'm pretty happy I got mine, but I'm wondering are these just not as popuplar?
Nice ones are not all that common and many collectors don't like common and less attractive coins. Nero/Alexandria is particularly unattractive because of the poor metal he used there. They prefer either Imperials or Rare Cities in bronze to poor metal billons. The 'high class' coins of Alexandria are the big bronzes. I have three not too attractive Nero tets but I'm not very classy. This is my favorite Alexandria tetradrachm: Julia Domna year 2 (194 AD):
Thanks I admit I dont like billon, and mine feels a bit grainy, and many do have a grainny look. I still love it though. I dont think I have any high class coins in my collection lol
alexander III tet? thanks I still have it, its one of my favorates so it staying in my collection for ever Its the most exspensive I have and nicest out of all , but I guess the rev. is poorly done, which it part of the reason some thought it was fake lol (its not fake), and the toning may be artificial. It has a small gouge on the rev. too that looks more recent (before I got it). All these things dont bother me though. Still very happy with it. edit: heres a link if anyone wants to see it http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-40517
