Below find digital images of a Sweden 2 ore 1957. Is this an example of some sort of repunched date, overdate etc? All comments welcome.
I use Numista to ID most of my world coins, and don't see any mention of RPM (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1033.html). What source are you using? Looks normal to me.
I've used Numista also for my Norwegian 2 øre and 5 øre collections, but unfortunately there are recognized (even by NGC) overdates that are not listed. Therefore, one might want to check the NGC and even PCGS resources. ' Steve
Thanks to Mountain Man and Stevearino for their comments. I have checked various resources on-line and also do not find any mention of overdates or repunched dates for the Sweden 2 ore 1957. Below, are some additional images with arrows indicating the area in question on the 1957 and to similar areas in the “19” of a 1955 2 ore Sweden in my collection. The 1955 appears to have a stronger indication of a similar sort of “work”. In other 2 ore of this design I have examined, the recessed areas have been free of this sort of thing. Any thoughts most welcome.
@SRSNUM, that's an interesting photo of the coin in your collection. Not sure what to make of it. Quite different from the OP's coin, as a straight line through the date area couldn't be a RPM, but in yours I see all kinds of possibilities. Interesting. Steve
Maybe you should submit it and see if you get a new find. I'm not sure how Numista comes up with their information, but you might try to contact them.
