Thanks very much Ken Wish You and Your Family a Happy New year! PS: I did better in "World 1500-2000" era. Will try for less coins next campaign/ but better ones (aurei) John
Wish You and Your Family a Wonderfull New Year! Thank you! That Aelia Eudocia Tremissis was nice, N. Genevensis auctions have supberb material. The Mithradates Staters/ like the KOSON ones are affordable to all collectors/ thanks to recent hoard finds John
John, Another impressive group of coins ! My favorites are #3, 10 & 4, in that order . I've seen scores of Ecu d'or coins, but none as fine as your coin .
Thanks ! Always glad to share with you and others. I love looking at your coins and other members collections. Unfortunately, in real everyday life not many open up and talk about their coin collections Wish You and Yours a Wonderfull 2022! John
Thank you Al! I agree on the Charles VI Ecu d'or/ I have seen some graded MS-65+ that should very bad detail on legends/ due to the guy swing the hammer having a bad day. The English based in Aquitaine did a much better job/ most Saluts d'or are in impeccable quality/ strike as this one from Bru/Wellco which I bought as an "unsold lot" for 3000 euros/ Which You and Your Family a Wonderfull 2022!!!!
Congrats on another golden year, @panzerman! My favorite of the bunch is the Syracuse AV tet... not one you see every day . Love the Axumite too.
Thank you TIF I remember the day when the Lansky Auction took place/ my heart was racing when it came up/ I fell in love with that coin from the first time I saw it The Axum coin was a lucky break, I only checked the Leu auction that day/ even better it went lower then anticipated. I Wish You and Your Family a Wonderfull New Year! John
That Syracuse is the winner all day long. They are all great though P-man. I like the Edward IV also.
Congratulations, @panzerman. Needless to say, I think your coins are truly amazing! It's very difficult to choose from among them, but I think my favorites are the Mithradates VI, the Edward IV (I always liked English hammered gold!), and the Aelia Eudocia tremissis.
Great group of coins as usual @panzerman, with a preference for the Visigothic and the Axumite for me. The Charles VI gold ecu would make my day though Happy new year Q
Thank you Donna Its always a treat to see your posts/ your collection of antiquities/ coins is impeccable I wish You and all Your Family a Lovely 2022! And will look forward to seeing your posts in the coming years..... John
Thank you Q I Wish You and Your Family a Wonderfull New Year! and will say a special "prayer" that you have success in upcoming auction! The Charles VI came from Roma XXV/ its provenance was from a French dealer/ auction firm (Jean Vinchon & Phidias) seems they have supberb coins/ esp. the strike is precise. The Axum Kingdom coinage is also one of my favs./ along with "Cimmerian Kings of the Bosphorus" coinage. I love your Dombes collection... John
