think i found a fake?? 1798 draped bust large cent- reverse cud

    I can't see anything wrong with it. S-161 Noyes Die States D/J. This is a superior example of the terminal die state than the X/J in Noyes.

    If I knew where to bid, I'd probably go for it because I like rare die states of common varieties.

    I see Breen has a XII Terminal Die Stage. This shows the beginning of die buckling D S and CA so it's either a late XI or early XII depending on where you draw the line.

    Now if I could just replace my obverse with this obverse while I keep my reverse...

    But they would make a nice pair though...

    well, it tis an error coin so the pirce guide goes out the window...

    it is currently at 202.50 i am ong o wait and bid with 3 seconds left, i might go a high as 250.00 or wo, numismedia has it pegged at 265.00 in vg-8..butas i said, i migh gohigher depending on if lots i am bidding on win or lose,,,i hsve bid on sbout 12 of them from heritage, great collections and of course ebay

    I think I'll sit this one out. I'm hoping to go to the Houston Money Show in three weeks. At least three copper guys are scheduled to be there.

    well, it is at 237.50, just outbid by my target range of 225, i went a bit higher to make him more money, like an unpaid shill, hoever i did find an 1798 fine details (corrosion, almost all are at this point, lol) and got it for 250.00 which is 75.00 lower than his asking price...in the post now
