That is not the case. For example, anytime you buy via EBay, Amazon and others, they are paid prior to shipment.
Yea unfortunately a lot of people are better off blocked because their fee fees got hurt lol/ You actually brought it up first if you look back though. The "numbers" I used as a hypothetical were insanely low though for the submissions. You know the average isnt going to be a 5 coin modern submission. We both know that they account for much more than that and more importantly but doing that they direct dealer behavior for where their submissions go. Just look at CAC (not to throw a grenade into the room) but one of the reasons they did succeed while all the other stickers fail aside from the reputation is they have embraced the small collector which filters upwards in demand
Let's look at CAC. Do they actually favor the small collector of ANACS, SEGS, ICG, and any other TPGS with individual coins that are the equal of the services they sticker? I don't think so. Furthermore, we are both just because we have not agreed on the definition of a small collector! How many coins does a small collector send in a year? Is a millionaire who sends two million dollar coins a year a small collector although his fee for each coin eclipses most submissions? You can have the last word ; however, nothing will change MY OBSERVATION that the little collector provides a drop in the profit bucket for the big two TPGS. Nevertheless, I'm sure the big two would not turn away even that relatively small percent of their total revenue.
I'm no expert on CC Ts & Cs but here's a few examples where your card gets charged before you receive the item/service and these are perfectly acceptable: 1) Pay for a yearly subscription. 2) Buy a trip on an airplane. 3) Pay tuition for college. 4) Partial up-front payment for dental work. 5) Lay-away at a store for an item (does this still exist?). 6) Any item that you buy on the internet or from a catalog order. Your card is charged before your item is delivered or even shipped. 7) Every coin I've bought from on-line stores or won in an on-line auction.
Trust, no doubt becomes the factor, I am a small time Carpenter. When a customer writes me a check, and says get started I cash the sucker. Not tomorrow, or next week, immediately. Work doesn't happen for the new customer until there is an assurance of funds to pay for the materials and labor. Sure, when you are a repeat customer I bill ya, but I refuse to finance other peoples lavish lifestyle. Time and Materials are a different situation, but those are only on a word of mouth basis, from a repeat customer or the elderly. Here is what gets me in this whole exchange, When a customer gives me money, they expect a job completed in a timely manner. Not when I can get to it, What happens if when "I can get to it" is 6 months down the road? My customer would want their money back until I am ready to start. If it is a 45 day service, it should be a 45 day service, unless the customer changes the agreement.
Yes, but for tuition, subscriptions, etc you get charged at the beginning of the service you agreed to. For the others, you describe payment before shipment. That is normal too. Take the same transaction, have the seller charge the credit card three months before they ship the item, and is that still ok? That is what I was saying, charging months before shipping is the issue, not charing before shipment.
You have to be an active member in order to see their submission forms, but I wouldnt be surprised if somewhere in the language you agree to allowing them to do that
Maybe, I can check terms later, since I have submission privileges through the ANA. Even if they do, Visa and MC may have their own terms preventing this from even being asked. That is why I asked earlier if anyone with Visa or MC experience was here.
I have so many thoughts about this exact issue (along with other things) that, quite frankly, I don’t even want to start ranting because then I’ll be angry the rest of the day. I’m honestly just tired of doing everything I’m supposed to do, when it needs to be done, and businesses NOT doing what I’m specifically paying them to do when they’re supposed to do it, screwing everything up and then taking no responsibility for their actions. In the end, it’s just one more responsibility of MINE to make sure I get what I paid for.
Even if the CCs do have those terms I doubt they would care or do anything about it. It has to be one of their easiest customers with basically no charge backs since they would just keep your coins if you did do a charge back. Realistically the best way to actually stop it would be to find a FL law or a federal law banning it since a ton of their business is interstate commerce and then take them to court. Of course you'd be banned from that point on
I hear ya, Maybe there is a little stress relief in the coming year, This past year has gotten the best of the World. It's been a trying year for everyone. I am 50/50 that much changes for a while. Just remember you are one of those that help pay the bills, My customers get top notch service, and that's the only reason I don't have to advertise. I do what they ask, and I expect a business to do the same for me. If I was to send them my hard earned money.
