    Thanks for the photos. I see why you erroneously think my coin was soaked it acid.
    Its close in appearance, but the waves do not cover the full surface of my coin.
    You see only the part with the waves was applied to the wire wheel.
    I can make another one just for you, if you think it will help your understanding of what you are looking at.

    Cut a flat spot to show its the same coin.

    They applied the HCL or H2SO4 with an eye-dropper to the obverse and let it do its thing. That look is a dead-ringer for that, @alurid.
