Santa was good to me this year!

Yes, silver is always a good choice! A 1957 silver certificate and a 2006 Franklin 90% proof in the OGP. I loved this gift as I got to explain to my family what a silver certificate is too! Thanks for the thoughtful gift Santa!

Thank you, Santa. As you stated, I do not specialize in any one series of coins. As long as U.S. they fit into the hoard nicely. Thank you! IMG_2165.JPG IMG_2167.JPG IMG_2169.JPG IMG_2165.JPG IMG_2167.JPG IMG_2169.JPG

Thank you and Merry Christmas to my generous secret Santa!

A very thoughtful gift, some Canadian cents I needed for my album, a bag of holey coins :D, a silver ike, and a unique knights of the round table coin. Also, a funny note from Santa! :woot:

I’m blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness of my 2 Santas.

First received was this amazing haul, 2 beautiful Canadian quarters and a steel cent, all high grade and in very cool slab holders that I’d never seen before. A cancelled nickel (2005 I think), a gorgeous 2015 Uruguay $10 bimetallic and a 1761 German States 6 pfennig with an awesome griffon.

My second SS went overboard as well with a 2021 type 2 silver eagle, a 2014 eagle, a lightly toned unc 64 Kennedy, a 1993 James Madison half and a rolled cent with a Ford's theater design.

Really just floored. Thank you both and all of it is going into the permanent collection.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

As usual, I am floored by Santa's generosity. For starters we have this 1985 Canadian commemorative. I do love these Canadian coins and I will have to post a pic later of this one in my office on display with last year's present, a Canadian proof set. (Also, Santa, don't worry about that thing you mentioned in the letter, I love the coin!)

    20211225_165549.jpg

As if that wasn't enough, Santa also grabbed a few things "just lying around" on his desk which resulted in the following smorgasbord: a bank roll of 2009-D LP3 pennies, a 1907 IHC, a 1961 Franklin half, an 1851 braided hair large cent, 1914 Barber dime (which I definitely agree with Santa has a lot of character, in particular I like the smidgen of toning on the reverse), and finally a 1902-O Morgan silver dollar which Santa noted he had put in this holder to try and get some toning on it, but it wasn't working out. Look for progress pics on next year's thread to see if it did anything in my care.

Again, thank you Santa you did a real bang up job this year!

Forgot to photo a nice huge beehive on a Jefferson Nickel.
This one was neat, I will have to do a search on Ken Hallenbeck.

A pretty cool 88P Roosevelt that has multiple errors.
    It definitely needs better photos.

My Secret Santa blew away old Santini with these goodies, I must say.:woot:

First, an off-center 1977 Roosevelt dime. Santa must have known I didn’t have one of these errors. Now I do!

Now, Santa follows with a sharp 1951-S nickel and a 1936-D Lincoln cent.

And they all came in some interesting government envelopes from half a century ago.

    Very cool clashes!!

Nice off center! Santa brought me an off center dime this year too! :)
That 1944 peso is sharp! Looks reminiscent of the earlier coin they had.

This wasn’t from the secret Santa exchange, but it’s from a fellow CT’er who knows my penchant for Germans States coinage. This one is 1619 Brunswick (Braunschweig). I used a microscope to try to get a better photograph of it. Pretty cool to have coins 150+ years older than your country. Merry Christmas!

Wow, I didn't check the mail yesterday apparently, and I was out with the dog just now and grabbed it, and there was my Secret Santa gift, and boy is it awesome! Sunshine Mint silver round - gorgeous and shiny! Plus, a really nice 1917 Type 1 Standing Liberty Quarter!!!!! My son and me are SLQ collectors, and this is really special, thank you Secret Santa, Brandon and Coin Talk!!! As always, my pictures are terrible, these are nicer than pictured.
