Wow that’s a beautiful trite! I’d love to get one of those some day. Alyattes might not be as well known as his son Croesus but he certainly did just as much, if not more, to ensure the prosperity of Lydia while reigning during a time of extreme turmoil.
Thanks, @Gam3rBlake. Alyattes surely had a tough time during his kingship dealing with the nomadic Cimmerians. Nomadic tribes are frequent headaches to settled kingdoms. The Sea Peoples and the Huns are two examples that come to my mind. The Lydian electrum and silver deposits are "magnets" to any potential invader.
