Early Half Dimes offer many varieties to the collector. They are dated 1794-1873. They underwent a number of changes, both in weight and style. An act of Congress in 1792 authorized the Half Dime but they were not minted until February 1795 even though some are dated 1794.

This Half Dime is dated 1832, the fourth year of the Capped Bust style. Only 965,000, which is the second lowest of this style, were issued. This issue has a rarity rate of 3. Despite a few rim nicks, it is in XF condition. In 2032 it will be 200 years old. This issue contains .8924 ounces of silver. It was changed to .900 five years later.

My coin has great detail as it was well struck but in its lifetime it has toned evenly as a beautiful gunmetal blue.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

That is a really nice, original surfaces coin.
