I came across this peace dollar with a doubled appearance. A touch on the first 2 and more so on the last 2 of the date. It also seems that the line from her chin up has the same doubled look. I have looked and it seems the Peace dollar series had several varieties but few actual errors with this not being listed as one of them . I have also read about the different types of situations that can create this effect but still lack the true skill to feel my call is correct. I am pretty sure this would be considered machine doubling but was hoping for a general concensus and also a point in the right direction to some good error identification books and web sites with lots of comparrison pictures. I know about wexlers, thanks to you all, but would like to find more entry level information from a variety of reccomended places or if I should just stick to Wexlers. 1922 obverse 1.jpg 1922 obverse 2.jpg 1922 obverse 3.jpg 1922 reverse 1.jpg
Appreciate the imput and hope all have a safe and Happy Holiday

It's Machine Doubling. More pronounced than normal, but that's what it it.

Not a mint error and not a doubled die. It’s flat and shelf like so MD is the problem.
