True but you gotta love those eBay cherry picks;)Sometimes the coin is a different appearance but the same coin entirely in person and a win.

Ya think? lol When I saw this I would have to say this is WORST case of cleaning a coin I have ever seen and definitely not a coin I would want to be selling except to the dealer as scrap :))

I tend to agree with @Conder101 that you can't easily grade MS coins from images.

my guess on the Morgan is between MS 62 and MS 63

    • Strike = OK
    • Luster = difficult to tell because the light doesn't seem diffused. Seems the light is shining directly onto the coin, which creates more bright reflections and over-exposure
    • Surface Preservation = low
    • Eye appeal = again, hard to tell with this picture but guess would say it's just OK.

cleaning = possibly quick dipped but might pass TPC as not cleaned. again, agree with @Conder101 here that on MS coins it's a guess without a set of really good pictures taken at multiple angles and raw.

Now, what about this one (PCGS MS67 is in white below the one that I believe is cleaned but have not confirmed):

My opinion is definitely yes - There is too much detail missing in the hair for it to be that clean without some extra help. Now keep in mind im legally blind- so if my eye does see it especially this easily- then it most likely is!

I'm starting to agree with a buddy of mine that does a good business selling coins on ebay. he said, 'if a US coin is valued > $200 then it's in a PCGS/NGC/ANACS holder or something is wrong with it and it's going to end up on HIBID or PROXBID (where raw coins go to die)'
