191d lincoln

Picked this up the other day for $125 at a local shop. I know the reverse is damaged,but I wanted to fill a Whitman hole. Whaddya all think, rip off or what? I'm happy with it

Looks to be VG8 or so…NGC lists this grade and date at $215 USD. Take a bit back for the damaged N/ONE and you made out very well…best guess is worth around $175 fair value.

There is a possibility that it would get a straight grade. On a VF, the mark on the “N” in “ONE” would be a problem. On a VG, it is less so.

This is a nice album coin of a key date, and, most importantly, it’s genuine. That is a big deal these days.

 

I got one in a roll of supposedly "unsearched" cents that was very, very obviously an altered 1944 D. Whoever did it did a very poor job of altering the date, and they obviously forgot that on a REAL 1914-D, there is no "VDB" at the bottom of Lincoln's shoulder.

 

Very nice. Much nicer than the beat up 14 D that I own.
