same model position for over 2000 years Siberian Man, These coins are gorgeous. The 1790 Half Penny flipped a switch in my brain & I realized that coin makers have been posing their models in VERY similar positions since before 400BC. It seems it was common to have the right side of the rulers face on the obverse & a god or goddess in a seated position with their far arm extended and the right arm leaning on a shield or holding a spear.
