Old English coins.

I have some of the same coins as you. I was able to get my hands on a load of English coins, mainly pennies. I also got some half pennies, a florin and a few other ones. I absolutely loved looking at your photos. Thanks for sharing!

These coins are gorgeous. The 1790 Half Penny flipped a switch in my brain & I realized that coin makers have been posing their models in VERY similar positions since before 400BC. It seems it was common to have the right side of the rulers face on the obverse & a god or goddess in a seated position with their far arm extended and the right arm leaning on a shield or holding a spear.

So you can see what I mean:
