I bought many coins, but the one pleasing me most ( and my most costly one at that - import fees, taxes etc) is this sestertius of Antoninus Pius depicting Sicilia as a token of appreciation of the gifts of many provinces on his ascencion to the throne. These gifts constituted mostly of precious metals, half of which he returned to the III Antoninus Pius 0589b Sicilia sest 7-1465.jpg provinces.

Many thanks! I am very pleased with these four coins. They would become the centerpieces of my ancient coin collection.

    Many thanks!

Nice Antoninus Pius sestertius, Frans. I like your coin's charming portrait.

These are all wonderful @happy_collector . Any one of them would be a worthy number one on any collector’s list. For me your #4 Agathokles tet stands head and shoulders above the others. I can see why you chose it as your avatar.

    Great year of additions.

Gorgeous additions. I understand why the Faustina Jr is your #1 choice, that's a lovely portrait of hers. The Syracuse tet (Kore/Nike) is absolutely wonderful too

Wow this is really a great group of coins!
I’m a sucker for Greek silver and you’ve acquired some some really beautiful pieces here.
Among the gold I agree the Faustina Jr aureus is outstanding.

    Thanks, @robinjojo.
I think the experience of going through hundreds of similar-looking owl tetradrachms helped me sort out some good-looking coins.

    Thanks, @jb_depew.
I am happy I am able to pickup a few nice coins, even though I got outbid on so many more this year.

    Thanks, @Cucumbor.
I think the Syracuse tet and Faustina Jr coins are good representation of miniature Greek and Roman art.

    Thanks, @Nvb.
I love Greek silver coins. Great artistry, and many of them are deeply struck (giving a 3-dimensional feel). I hope to pickup a few next year with mythical themes, such as the man-headed bulls.

The Faustina Jr aureus really "speaks to me". I love the young portrait. :)
