Reading other threads here where people have posted purchases and people have chimed in with their thoughts on the grade and pricing, I was hoping to get some input here too.

I paid $115 from a brick and mortar dealer here. While he doesn't assign grades, I figured it is about a G. Interested to hear your thoughts. IMG_20211214_101658.jpg IMG_20211214_101640.jpg

    Thanks in advance.

It would be a lot easier if you posted these in full size.
The coin looks in the G range. Possibly G8 to VG10.

From B those photos it’s too difficult to tell. They need to be full size with the background removed.

The black is no good? I thought it'd be a good contrast.

    What would be better?

    I'm closer to G-06. 10 seems high.
It may not be gradable, can't tell from the photos. (If it was cleaned improperly, or has environmental damage.)
    At G06-VG08 It's under $100.
That being said it's a low mintage desirable coin and sometime in the future will be worth more than you paid.

I think you paid a fair price. No home runs were scored by either you or the dealer, but a fair deal was done. So many coins from this era are worn so flat that the detail is lacking, but I think you got a semi-key date with decent detail and paid a fair number for it.

I'd be happy with that price and that coin to fill 1 of 8 remaining holes in my low grade walker collection.

Was just thinking.... I don't believe I would introduce this one to an acetone bath. I think you would lose the grime around the devices that give this one some eye appeal and detail. If you soaked this one I believe it would just end up looking like all the other worn slick, early date Walkers out there.

Amen. For the grade it looks fine the way it is.

The reason I said G-08 there is that there is rim rim seperation. G6 and lower there is usually no rim separation. This one still has descent rim details making me thing on details alone it should be an 8.

    I'd call it a VG 8

Thanks everyone. Not soaking, not sure if it's a place holder, or my end piece for the set, but really like the Walkers and am getting the smaller mintages first.
