Your terminology suggests, to me, that you need to learn more about coins in general before you can make a statement like "this coin is rare and Unique". This coin is anything BUT a 'rare' coin, as defined by the numismatic term 'rare'.

Also, please share the 'mathematical' process the U.S. Mint has.

It didn't happen at the Mint? You mean that you can actually do this yourself? and scrap part of the copper and make mountains with it? Cause if you can that you got to be from Mars or someqhere but on earth when a coin is cold and tha'ts when the coin is fresh and then let settle , the coin get hard and that means that if you try to wipe some copper off clockwise with something then what you get is ...a penny weighting less then what the actual penny should weight and that's no good and no blob cause you can't make a mountain with a hard copper penny Sorry but that's not the right answer, nice try though and thanks for your opinion...let see someone else think their thought about this one cause I haven't seen one like this before either but I just think that mint press , pressed on this penny a bit too hard for this to have happened....looks nice at the end..don't you think

My reasons for posting so much here are twofold. First I hold out a dim hope that the OP can be educated and convinced that this is nothing more than damage. Failing that, I want to make sure that no noobie coming to this site mistakes his claims as anything but hogwash.

    Enough said

Dude I saw one like this in the Parking lot at work.. TRASHED..
My Snoring Smoking Screaming wife who know NOTHING about coins .. Looked at what I was writing about and Said it looks like it was stuck in a vending machine..
As for the "Cuds" .. If I had one like this.. ( Give me a few days.. ) what would you pay for it??

I need the Money.. so CTers forgive me for for taking advantage..

I quote what you said there " rare and unique" do you know that a unique coin ia graded under a rarety scale of between 1 and 2 or 3 known species? or something called an R-8 error? yes that's right , I have been collecting error coins for many years now and I have yet to fin one like this! I have seen them all , broadstruck , off centre, double die, off planchet ..blah blah blah et... hm based on your theory you suggest that this type of error is common in error variety, could you maybe post us all here a picture of a similar or common species as posted to this topic for all of us to see? thanks in advance

Copper is very maleable and will form quite readily. The marks on the front occur, to a lesser degree, often just by recieving too much pressure from a coin rolling machine.

thanks! I like the attention...lol .. some of my error I think are just extraordinary and much confusing to see at first and may just be unrealistic at first, however I am thinking of sending them to a 3rd party for authentication but for now...........:pencil:

you can make one? sure go ahead and make one for us and then post it here for us to look at it and maybe you can make us a off centre error too and then a broadstrike maybe and if you can make it that far then maybe we will all buy you a 1st class ticket to EDITED cause I think you would just fit in just right:eek:dd:

I NEVER said this 'penny', as you call it (it's called a CENT) was an 'error'. I have repeatedly used quotation marks, referring to YOUR claims as to it's being an error. Unique, sure it is, as no coin could be scraped under a tire EXACTLY like this..unique meaning 'one of a kind', which in all likelihood, this is.

So, explain the 'mathematical process' the U.S. Mint uses? I'm still waiting for the definition of that.

Sorry Lather, that's not more than a $2,000 coin on a good day. Try again.

Who's 'we'? Also, that is a slurring remark.

I don't think you could buy me a BUS ticket to the next town over if you are buying coins like that for more than face value.

so now you think that a coin rolling machine did this to this particular coin? well it's just got to be the only one I have ever seen and if you count all the rolling machines out ther and all the coin denomination going through them then I guess I or anyone should see a lot more of them unless it was a Mint error which in most cases are melted by the Mint unless they pass by inspection ( rarely ) ....I don;t know what sounds to be more realistic here? anyone seen lots of error out there in there change lately?
