i guess the same reason why a person would buy an overgraded franklin because it has pretty colors, or pay for nft "images" that really mean nothing, this amazes me, just wo https://www.ebay.com/itm/3935794256...-0&siteid=0&mkcid=1&campid=5337640669&mkevt=1 w???
You mean Kenedy half dollar, people collect these as low ball sets. They find the lowest of the low and it wouldn't surprise me if this sold actually.Looks like it was in someone's pocket for 50 years.
so what is to stop someopne "stropping" the coin with leather, or some other mild abrasive till desired worn down look?? this seems very hard to authenticate..just saying....seems silly to me..look i have the worst known example, should of paid scrap -20% for metal loss, but no!!! i paid 1400.00 smh
P-01 set to me stands for pointless. When they grade it, can they really tell that it wasn't a dryer coin, or some other unnatural wear which would disqualify it from grading?
exactly what i am saying, i have a 68-d like it, and called it a struck through grease, but it is so worn who can really tell????....this is bizzare, and the funny thing is someone will buy the darn thing, lol
here is another doosy, but at least it is a real 'doubled" die, right??? only $ 11,000.00 https://www.ebay.com/itm/372918256054?hash=item56d3a901b6:g:JusAAOSwYwNgzQmu
.. You guys are such funny newbies! Scroll to the bottom of the following webpage https://www.pcgs.com/grades
i just found this crh...should i send it in ang get half-basil grade...1/2 on the sheldon scale, not even 1... hell, i will sell it cheap, only 499.00??? whatchyall think???
it is the lowest grade gradeable, so by sheldon scale a ms-68 kennedy is worth 98,600 dollars?? 68 X 1400 by sheldon pricing system?? i know was meant for half cents and at a time long time ago when you could still get gold and silver in pocket change, but a cull coin, unless a super rarity like a 1790's American coin, otherwise is ridiculous to the max man,,,
Some thoughts.. https://www.pcgsblog.com/jaime/news/pcgs-low-ball-coins Quote "Perhaps coins in grades of Poor 1 are much more desirable because they circulated heavily, and therefore have much more historical significance. Or, it can be because this is the lowest grade possible and it’s really hard to find a coin in this one specific grade. Is it because it takes just a bit more wear before it becomes un-greadable. Or, is it because of the Set Registry and several collectors want to compete in Low Ball sets? Or it may be because collecting Low Ball coins is really fun. Whatever the reason is, its fun to see Low Ball coins attract this much attention in the marketplace." Closed quote
There's a difference between heavy worn/circulated coins that grade PO-1 and damaged coins. Please try to understand that.
ok, if you say so, i think it is silly, people tell me i am nuts for paying 5,00 for a die crack, yet someone would pay 1400 for this, crack it out and most dealers will not even give you scrap, with mine, at least i still have an error, just my opinion, i understand that people will pay all kinds of money just to one up each other, personally the coin is A CULL TO me..anyways, did you get the pm i sent ya?? let me know what you think, still3 days to go, i do not know if real or not, thanks paddy and have a good night, going to sleep soon, have to get up at 330 am to go to the coin show tomorrow in auburn, ma...
How do you figure that? Have you ever seen coins in grades 2, 5-7, 9-11, 13-19, 21-29, 31-39, 41-44, 46-49, 51-54, 56-59?
