Granted, this does not meet the amusing requirement set forth by @Penny Luster, but it seemed relevant nonetheless.

    A purchase from earlier today:

    Whoo, that's a sweetie!

I've only owned one Oregon Trail commemorative ever. Also a 1926-S, with AU details.

Cleaned. I did the cleaning myself, to get the red clay off of it.

You see, this was a rather astonishing metal detector find of mine, dug on a vacant lot in Sharpsburg, GA, where an old house had burned down in the 1950s.

You can imagine my utter surprise when that shallow 2.5" deep "quarter" signal turned out to be that. When it rolled out of the plug of sod, I was completely gobsmacked and speechless, for a moment. Took a few seconds of staring at it in my hand before I shouted my dig buddy over.

Because it was covered in clay when found, and the first glimpse I got was of the sun rays, I thought I'd dug another Walking Liberty half at first. Which was exciting enough. But then... wow.

That must have been quite the thrill. I bet you must have been quite exciting at digging that regardless of condition. Anyways, I take it that you no longer own this coin?

Still have it, somewhere, wherever my old detector finds album is. I never sold any of my dug coins. I'm rather sentimental about those.

    That's a great looking coin!
I snagged a cut penny of Alexander II this summer for the princely sum of $6. Not nearly as nice as yours though.

    Alexander II
    1235-1249 AD
    Half Penny
    Roxburgh
Obverse: ALEXANDER REX, Crowned left facing bust with a sceptre.
Reverse: Short voided cross pattee, six-pointed star in each angle, legend and beaded borders surrounding

The newest (and last!) tadpole will be here soon. Less than 2 months. Yikes!

Pretty solid scoop for six bucks, though!

Mine was considerably more expensive. ;)

I'd like those.....to go to our youngest YN on CT. I'm hoping you can help me out with this @lordmarcovan or any other YN who might know who it would be. If this directive is too difficult to identify, then the next YN to post after this one.

This is a pic of my Secret Santas unopened gift to me this year :D . Can you say 'excited'? That's what I am!

So... I'm not sure if anyone has figured this out, yet, but I'm a bit of a chop-buster. I kind of just type what's on my mind, and deal with the consequences later. Usually, this gets me into some sort of trouble. Anyway, i was 100% joking about caribou and reindeer being the same animal. I just said what was on my mind, and what i thought was funny at that moment.
Sometimes, chop-busting goes horribly wrong, but this time, it went horribly right!
