I always like the IN GOD WE RUST coins and I’ve found a few variations of that theme but not in a long time.

recently found this one. Not in great shape, granted, but is this the results of damage, grease filled die, or yet another reason?

What the edge look like? If it's a sandwich it's clad.

The op just needs to look at the edge,if there's no copper showing then it's silver.

Yes, the edge will give us a date range, anyway. All silver colored = 1960-64. Copper "sandwich" layer = 1965-69.

Looks like there could be a little "greaser" action there, but it's hard to say, with the aforementioned wear and tear and enviro damage also goin' on. (?)

Looks like 1965 to me (especially in the second picture). And there may be grease, but there's also die wear, and coin wear, and environmental damage. I wonder if even a CoinStar would take it at this point.

It does look like a 1965 clad to me, as well.

I am in with a 65 and I will raise you weak details. Grease filled or some die deterioration. The toning and wear pattern make me think Grease filled.

Actually it was a Coinstar kickback.

I'm so glad that Coinstar machines dislike so many interesting coins...

It pays to check Coinstar, ten cents more than you had, right!

I prefer E Pluribus Unum. U.S coins were much more artistic before - Edited - .

There's a lot more I'd say on the subject, but not here.
