I also received my 2 books and 2 vignettes today! Thank you so much RickieB for facilitating this and of course pass on my thanks to Mr. Hessler for me!
IMHO it appears to be an effort to unload a substantial inventory of obsolete currency books. The 7th edition with the complete redo should have been mentioned. Again, my opinion.
You are just so wrong! If you even had a clue I would be amazed! I take that as a personal attack on my character as well as Mr. Hesslers. An apology is in order, and fully expected. It is very obvious to me you have never read the Engravers Line and Looked up specific United States Currency to find H#'s. Indeed Mr. Wise guy, Hessler attributed many notes in the 6th Edition with H#'s and the 7th Edition does not correlate to the H#s in the Engravers Line or the 7th Edition due to it be edited by someone different. With the majority of these guys having The Engravers Line he threw in a copy of the 6th Edition as a Freebie..That should make you really look like a smart guy right?? RickieB
Worth bringing back up again. It never ceases to amaze me...so much for what you think you know! RickieB
...Crazy, these books are full of useful information! I'm glad most people here can see RickieB's good actions in arranging these opportunities for us and can appreciate it.
Payton,my mother always would say "Let no good deed go unpunished" It was a free book from Mr. Hessler, don't you understand that !
Wow! I was so late to all this! I just got this 1949 Ed. Paper Money In sheets.. for 25.00.. If I had the extra $$ I would have jumped on this .. Signed! I have to say that EVERYTHING about this sale was VERY KIND and It looks like you made several very VERY happy.. Cheers to All! How could anyone look at it in any other way!
Well, there has been two negative comments regarding this offer both of which have been met with a vigourous counterattack. So much for speaking your mind. Perhaps all responses should be in the order of hugs and kisses so we all "just get along".
...and yet you persist! Your earlier comment wasn't just negative, it attempted to fault someone when you had the opportunity to point out in a helpful manner why you thought the offer wasn't worth the price. You incorrectly based this solely on one of the items offered according to its print edition. As has been pointed out, the fact that a newer edition exists, doesn't render the previous edition obsolete! And you certainly did not evaluate all of the other items in the offer. For those who took up RickieB and Gene Hessler's generosity, they were awarded an extra surprise engraving. Why you choose the route you did is a wonder or perhaps something as common as jealousy. Or 'perhaps' you ought recognize your errant mind and apologize post haste.
Sorry all, my lack of patience got the better of me regarding RickyB's domination of threads both here and elsewhere. You see, we go back. Venting on him in this thread was inappropriate. I won't go further other than to say, go to "the other" currency forum and as about one "Junk Yard Dog" and see what you get.
Payton: So thats where you come from..I wondered about that. Yes indeed I went to CU and joined as Junk Yard Dog..I heard in a Thread posted here on CT that that forum was full of folks that hated CoinTalk, so I checked it out. Turns out most all but RoadKing, Saor Alba, Good Paper, Dursin and Monkey Monkey proved up to what the report said about the folks. I was not let down by the actions/reactions some of the members provided there at all. I have seen and been harrassed/doubted by many of the members on that forum and as it appears, you were one of them. As far as domination..I think thats more or less an understatement, Jess, Max, The Rock and a few others are the dominant ones, not I. It is nor my intention to attempt to dominate anything or anyone, if I come across that way please let me know. I just enjoy collecting High Grade Notes. Is it a crime to work hard and purchase high grade notes? Last I checked, it was not. I did meet some nice folks over there, but just a few. Most doubted me and taunted me because I have a decent collection. Hands down this is a much better forum, glad to see you seem to agree, you are here right? What you said about the offer was wrong...how you feel about me is a personal choice, and your right to do so. I can back up everything I say and have. Feel free to insult me all you want, but not my colleagues. You have no right to do that, no matter what you think..this is not CU. RickieB
This is a great forum, but I also happen to enjoy CU and with few exceptions, find most of the posters there to be very informative, helpful and yes, decent. Don't make CU out to be something negative just because of a few posters. If anything, the comments one might read there are typically no worse than the following... "If you even had a clue I would be amazed!" "That should make you really look like a smart guy right??" "It never ceases to amaze me...so much for what you think you know!"
It just comes down to jealousy RickieB. Most collectors would die to be able to have a collection such as yours and I'm sure we havent even seen half of it. It's nice to see that there are some genuine people here on this forum that love to view these amazing notes and can celebrate with you in completing your and our goals. We all have different goals based on our wants, resources, and commitment. It's sad people let jelousy get in the way of great numismatic knowledge.
Whatever you do RickyB (JYD), don't rule out youiself as the problem. Good Lord! Your words speak volumes. Actually you rejoined CU under the alias JYD due to previous issues under RickyB. You immediatley rubbed most everyone the wrong way when you rejoined. I also think the CU forum is full of wonderful people and knowledgable currency collectors. Sure, there are a few knuckleheads like everywhere else. If one behaves like an adult and not a pompous REMOVED, all is well and fun. Just be aware of how you are.
Payton or who ever you are: The only issues under the name RickieB at CU when I first joined was that I forgot my password. So to get it right, RickieB was established as a user back when I first started collecting Paper several years ago. It was only after the Thread Started here at CT that I decided to re-visit that forum the see if it was as claimed. Yes there are some good people there, but far many more who are not. I find that the knowledge level at CU is outstanding and I will not discredit anyone there for that. It is not their knowledge that is in question..it was their reaction to a new member who happened to pick a user name at CU of Junk Yard Dog..well it seems that I was not the first user of that name and the person who had it before me was assumed to be me..many members there said that. Had I choosen another name it would have not played out that way. As mentioned, think what you want...I have nothing to hide. RickieB
I wish I had not passed on the offer, did not know about the H#'s situation. Any single part of the offer would be worth the price by itself. Please don't let a situation like this deter you from working out deals like this in the future.
It never ends. When you forgret your password you can get a new one in a day. Another JYD user?? Your in denial sir. Then you mention CU user names earlier in this post as trouble makers. Nuts and classless. Then when using your JYD user name you inadvertently postscript a message with "thanks RB".. You get called on it then miracoulsly you remember your "RickyB" password and go on with the ludicrous story of why you couldn't conduct biz as RickyB?. Apologies to all for this sillyness but you should know what your dealing with here.
