MMS-2a and a near pegleg. Other than the suh-weet color, nothing of note. Send it to me.................................... ...............NOW!
LOL! Thanks! I think I'll keep this one a bit longer. I'm very happy the the color didn't pass as 'pond scum', ...whew!
aGAIN I'm beginning to Like Ike, Again. Truly beautiful. Having lived through the time where half dollars were only half dollars and circulated without a second glance it's fun to see a new spin, and the great photos, too. I spent some last year and had to explain what they were. Used to be two would buy you a bag of 6 hamburgers. Now you have to explain what they are! Never use them at a drive through. It can make everyone behind you waste their lunch Half Hour as you explain it is real money and how to count high enough to prove you've given them enough.
How can I identify the difference of a 40% S BU and a 40% S Proof Besides the mirror finish of the proof are the edges different. Does the bu have a copper toned edge
Picked this one up at a small local coin show this past weekend, along with a few more that I have not shot yet. Even remotely nice ones are getting harder and harder to find:headbang:
Here a 71-S I am not sure were I got but here it is,it almost looks like it mayhave a clask on the obv?
Jello, Did you check the 71 "S" to see if it an S/S FS-501 from the picture I see just the slightest bit of something to the northwest of the mint mark. Might just be the way the light struck the coin but worth checking out Just a side note, there are 71S/S's out there with out the two die markers:bigeyes: Stewart
Well mine look really dingy compared to some of the nicely toned ones but this is what I have. Two silvers, no I gotta go back and see all the others. :kewl:
The 71 S looks very interesting right around the Left Leg of the "R" in Liberty Here is a link web page o you can compare yours http://www.ikegroup.org/CHEATSHEET.htm The 1971 S FS-401 is quite difficult to find Who knows you may have one there. Ike Varieties show up in the when we least expect them. That is another reason I love collecting them When one pops up. it feels like Christmas morning:hail: Stewart
I have Stewart and I too think it maybe S/S,I also have grade by Anacs MS-66n 1973-S I think is a S/S too:kewl:
Toned Ike Here's a nicely toned proof. Any idea on which MM variety of the ones 19lyds posted? (if it is one)
