Hi, Do you know if this coins have something like "BIE" lincoln penny on "IN GOD WE TRUST" or it is a damage. Plus, there is a line of metal on the reverse side. Thanks.
odd 1991 US Quarters CdNum, Still trying to get used to these forums and am not trying to hijack your thread but I came across this 1991 Quarter today and I cannot figure out why it does not have a mint mark ( 2010 redbook list P , D & S ). My quarter also has strange warp in the "In God We Trust" area. Any insight would be greatly appreciated
First one just looks worn smooth in those areas. Second quarter looks worn smooth where the mint mark would be. Same in the "In God We Trust" area.
1991 quarter error/also found by weegiebomber I have the same quarter, probably set it aside last year sometime and meant to check on it. Quarter also has same warp (IN is almost completely missing). Also, the inside rim on both sides has a recessed area by the rim--pretty sure that your quarter and mine are mistrikes that didn't get caught at the mint. There is definitely no mint mark. The edges of the quarter are not worn down, and the appearance is exactly similar to yours, so the missing mint mark and "IN" are not due to wear. No buff marks either.
