A 1977-D Lincoln Memorial Cent graded by PCGS as MS-63 RD. Reading the Label it reads Reverse Clipped Die but it’s not clipped. It’s Capped. An error label on a slabbed coin that’s an error. That’s funny and it’s something you don’t see everyday.

I’ve never heard of a clipped die. Can someone explain that to me? LOL

There is a burr on the reverse just above the “S of” in STATES of AMERICA. In hand it sticks out just a tiny bit from the coin. These are the best pics I could get so hope it helps.

Here’s the obverse. You can make out the date but just barely.

I've never heard of a Clipped Die. That would make it an Incomplete Die.

Error on the description is what occurred. That's interesting.

I think it should be capped, not clipped. Only 2 letters difference and it is a capped die.

Someone on CT collects error labeled slabbed coins, but I can't remember who.

Don’t think too hard about it. I just got it last month so not about to part with it.

The question is... Does that make the coin worth more? I say no. It's a human Error period. JMO. Thanks ! ;)

I like the coin but the error on the label is funny to me. Who ever heard of a clipped die? Lol

It's a reverse die cap. The label was just written incorrectly. If you return it to PCGS, they will fix it for free no doubt.

    I wouldn't.. That's a classic label error. Keeper!

I’ll keep as is as they call it, a clipped die, as there’s no such thing. A great label mistake with a nice error coin as well.

    Welcome to CT.
